Schiava
2021 – VIGNETI DELLE DOLOMITI
Typical Geographical Indication
Schiava TITON has been cultivated for more than one hundred years in a small plot of land at Maso Rossi in Civezzano, close to the summer residence of the Thun counts. The vineyard is grown using the typical Trentino “pergola system” as it was at the beginning of the 20th century and is softened by a few fruit trees and several willows that were once used to tie the vine shoots. The centuries-old vines give us very high quality harvests from year to year.
I dedicate this wine to my great-grandfather Giovanni Battista, known as the TITON because of his imposing build, and to my uncle Romano Andreatta, who was passionate about viticulture and a professor not only in school but also in life. Thanks to their passion, today I can proudly cultivate this museum vineyard.
The ideal terroir and the ageing in French oak barrels produce a wine with a complex bouquet of blackberries, cherries, redcurrants and wild strawberries.
The body is elegant, slender, but firm on the palate. The finish is pleasant, long and intense.
